2000 Chevy Tahoe
While unveiling the redesigned 2000 model, Chevy Tahoe conveys a message that
big vehicle can be better without being bulky. Tahoe comes with a 4.8-liter, 275
horsepower and 5.3-liter that generate 285 horsepower V-8 engine. This engine
shows off more output with 4 percent improved mileage. For the first time, Tahoe
offers plenty of features including sunroofs and one-piece hatch lids. It also
offers swing-out doors. Also new for 2000 is an optional third seat. The vehicle's
suspension is designed to give a car-like ride and handling. An optional Autoride
or Premium ride suspensions are available to maximize vehicle maneuverability
and ride comfort especially under different load situations.
To keep the stance level in any roadway or load conditions, both the Autoride
or Premium ride suspensions limit vehicle motion by automatically switching shock
settings at the rear wheels. These systems harden suspension settings to even
out the ride. Autoride uses air-leveling rear shocks while Premium Ride utilizes
normal vehicle motion to automatically pump up and adjust the shock settings.
2000 Chevy Tahoe also comes with standard and easy to use Autotrac four-wheel
drive together with a standard speed-sensitive power steering. The 2WD Tahoe has
an electronic traction assist that controls throttle and transmission shift points
to prevent the vehicle from slipping. Additional options for Chevy Tahoe include
OnStar emergency communications, side-impact air bags and large outside mirrors
coupled with puddle lamps. Running boards and four-wheel ABS comes standard.
